Murad Hydrate for Hope
In observation of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, Murad, Inc. has announced the launch of the limited-edition Hydrate for Hope duo featuring Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture to benefit City of Hope, one of the nation’s leading research, treatment and education centers for cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
The Hydrate for Hope duo includes two, 1.7 ounce jars of the uber-rich, all-purpose moisturizer retailing for $85; a $134 value. With each sale of the product, Murad will donate 10% of the purchase price to City of Hope for breast and women’s cancers research treatment and education programs, up to $1 million while supplies last.
Combining a luxurious recipe of ingredients to quench dehydrated skin, the velvety formula in Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture is fortified with Avocado, Sunflower and Olive Fruit Oils, as well as Shea Butter, to provide eight hours of moisture for smoothness and comfort, leaving skin perfectly polished and hydrated.
“Murad is proud to bring support to City of Hope, breast cancer and women’s cancers as a whole. Scientists with City of Hope’s Women’s Cancers Program are leading the way in advancing research to bring the latest and most effective treatments to patients while also enhancing their quality of life,” said Howard Murad, M.D., FAAD, Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCLA and founder of Murad, Inc. “Having personally seen cancer patients in my dermatology practice who experience the side effects of dry, dehydrated skin caused by their treatments, not to mention the stress brought on through battling the disease, I know that Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture will offer some much needed skin hydration while the Hydrate for Hope efforts will help support the greater cause. It is an honor to partner with City of Hope and support the scientists, survivors, supporters and brave individuals battling cancer to bring us closer to cures.”
Murad will be running additional promotions throughout their various channels during the month of October to raise additional funds for City of Hope. Planned activities include a limited-time “Hydrate for Hope” facial at all Murad Inclusive Health Spa locations throughout the country with a portion of the proceeds going to City of Hope, sponsorship and an employee team for City of Hope’s Walk for Hope Los Angeles, gift with purchases for a voluntary donation to City of Hope at checkout on Murad.com and much more.
In 2011, more than 230,000 new cases of breast cancer and more than 88,000 new cases of gynecological cancers will be diagnosed, according to the American Cancer Society. Scientists with City of Hope’s Women’s Cancers Program are investigating the biology of breast, ovarian and endometrial cancers as well as interventions that could help reduce cancer risk. Researchers also are identifying new treatments and prevention methods and examining issues affecting women with cancer and their families, such as spirituality, the emotional impact of cancer on caregivers, and other quality-of-life issues.
“Breast and gynecological cancers attack the body and the soul, undermining how women see themselves at their very core and how they relate to their families and friends. Our program is committed to curing and healing the whole patient through research, education, early detection and prevention,” said Joanne Mortimer, M.D., director of City of Hope’s Women’s Cancers Program. “Through the Hydrate for Hope promotion, Murad will help City of Hope bring the most innovative discoveries and treatments to women everywhere who are suffering from breast or gynecological cancer.”
The Hydrate for Hope duo will be available at Murad.com, the Murad Inclusive Health Spa, Murad Inclusive Health Medical Group, Sephora.com, Massage Envy and leading spas and salons in October 2011.
