Jabot Cosmetics Becomes a Reality
THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, daytime’s # 1 drama series seen weekdays on CBS, is bringing Jabot, the fictional beauty brand featured on the show, to life and into the hands of consumers. With this deal, Jabot Cosmetics will become a full line of color cosmetics and skincare products that viewers can purchase on www.shopjabot.com, www.hsn.com and at Ulta retail locations.
The fictional Jabot Cosmetics Company made its first appearance on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS 20 years ago and has been a central element in the storylines for many of the characters on the series, including the Abbott family, late founding father John (Jerry Douglas), and his children, Jack (Peter Bergman) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson).
Story elements to introduce the real Jabot Cosmetics will begin airing on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS on June 13th when a shakeup in the leadership at the fictional company Jabot Cosmetics leads to the development of a brand new formula that revolutionizes the industry. The new product line for the fictional Jabot will mirror the actual development of Jabot Cosmetics and is currently scheduled to air on June 24th.
Jabot Cosmetics will be created and manufactured by leading beauty company Fusion Brands, through a licensing deal with CBS Consumer Products and Sony Pictures Television.
“This is a truly innovative licensing deal that just makes sense on many levels,” said Liz Kalodner, executive vice president and general manager of CBS Consumer Products. “Jabot already has built-in brand familiarity with the viewers, and the launch of these new products will be integrated into the show’s storylines in a very organic way. Fans will get to watch the development of these products unfold on the show and then be able to actually buy them and use them themselves.”
“We’ve had a great partnership with CBS, Fusion, and HSN in putting this whole project together,” said Steve Kent, senior executive vice president of programming for Sony Pictures Television. “These best-in-class partnership opportunities don’t come very often and we know that the loyal fans of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS will appreciate all this product line has to offer.”

“This is the perfect platform to deliver such an offering to our fans who, for many years, have wanted to know how they could get real ‘Jabot Cosmetics’ and own a piece of the show that they have helped make #1 for 22 years.”
Beginning June 13th, Jabot Cosmetics will first be available for purchase with a Red Carpet Collection which includes a Photo Ready Face Lift, Picture Perfect Eye Lift and Crushed Diamond Facial Resurfacer available on www.shopjabot.com and www.hsn.com. Then, on June 21-22, Tracey Bregman, the actress who plays Lauren Fenmore and will serve as the face of the line, will host an HSN special where she will showcase the Red Carpet collection. Jabot Cosmetics will also be sold at Ulta retail locations beginning in October, and on July 28th, a 5-hour launch on HSN will showcase the full line of products as well as be available on www.hsn.com, www.shopjabot.com. Prices will range from $15 to $45.
THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS has been the #1-rated daytime drama for more than 22 years. The show is broadcast weekdays (12:30-1:30 PM, ET; 11:00 AM-12:00 Noon, PT) on the CBS Television Network and is produced by Bell Dramatic Serial Company, in association with Sony Pictures Television.

I’v been watching your show for over 20 years. I am glad you now have a real jabot line.I like all the actors, but billy and vicky need to get back together and get lucy back. Victor needs to get in some S-E-R-I-O-U-S trouble with the cops.
I am so happy to find out that this is an actual reality. I have always faithfully watch the show, the script writing is fantastic and it keeps you glued to your seat in every episode. I am definetly going to by some of these products, was hoping that this would happen one day and its finally here.

I was home sick today and saw the closing credits with Jabot. I got so excited. I couldn’t believe it. Wow! Jabot is a REAL product. I am a professional, with four degrees. I started watching Y&R while earning my first degree when the soap debuted. Through the years I got disappointed with some story lines and left but I always came back. My sisters, my mom, my daughter and I talk about the characters of Y&R as though they are family members. We watch on the SoapNet channel in the evening. Wow! Now my favorite soap has its own real cosmetic line. Wow! I am a woman of color of medium brown color so I hope your lines include warm earth tones, honey brown or such. I wear a high end product from Maceys but I can’t wait to find and try Jabot!
have watched young and restless for many mnay years and have always wondered if it realy was a product will try it and hope it makes me as beautiful as the ladies on the show would truly be a good product if that happen cant wait to try it.
