Microcurrent Facial Rejuvenation
Myotonology, the pioneer of microcurrent facial rejuvenation, is changing the face of the skin care industry with the introduction of two newly enhanced Myotonology devices - the Med Myo for certified health care professionals, and the Spa Myo for spa and salon owners. Myotonology is a patented microcurrent technology and therapy regimen that uses topically applied electric impulses to reduce the visible signs of aging. The treatment is:
- non-invasive
- painless
- affordable
- has no side effects
- requires no healing
- often produces instant results
“Our clients love our Mytonology facial treatments because they can see results right away,” said Diane Garcia, Director of The Midtown Spa in Rochester, NY. “It’s probably our most popular service.”
During a microcurrent facial, a painless, low-level electric current is applied directly to the skin to stimulate facial muscles, increase circulation and increase tonality. Myotonology offers the only patented process for microcurrent therapy. Unlike competitors, Myotonology uses a sequential, 9-step process that relaxes, tones and strengthens more than 30 facial muscles to decrease signs of aging. In a series of 10 to 12 Myotonology treatments, the facial muscles develop “muscle memory” and the effect can be maintained permanently with once-a-month treatments.
“As a dentist who has seen a lot of medical devices come and go, Myotonology almost sounded too good to be true,” said Steven G. Griffin, DDS, of Charlotte, NC. “We’ve been trained to think that if it’s not invasive, it might not work. But after my first treatment, when they handed me a mirror, I thought Wow! It really does work. They’re not overselling it.”
The Myotonology device applies electric stimulation via two 1” parallel prongs that pinpoint muscles to secure the best result. Competing therapies use a one-prong, rolling technique that stimulates large areas of the face, but fails to pinpoint specific muscles.
Myotonology is unique in its ability to control the frequency of electric impulses applied, which determines whether the device is relaxing, strengthening or toning facial muscles. Most competing products are pre-programmed with one impulse frequency and cannot provide the range of muscle activity that characterizes the Myotonology treatment.
Another unique attribute of the Myotonology system is that it offers three modes of electric impulses:
- positive
- negative
- alternating
The alternating current is used to stimulate microcontractions in the facial muscles. The positive and negative modes affect only the skin, and are used at the conclusion of the treatment to nourish and hydrate the face with one of Myotonology’s three custom-blended botanicals. The negative mode creates a chemical reaction that pulls the nourishing ampoules into the dermis. This is followed by the positive impulse, which seals pores, locks in moisture and brings skin back to a PH balance.
All Myotonology products and accessories are manufactured in the United States by FDA-approved manufacturers. The Medical Myo emits a higher current and is designed for both cosmetic and pre- and post-operative treatments by a physician, PA, RN, dermatologist or dentist. The Spa Myo emits a lower current and is designed for esthetic procedures administered by a certified Myotonologist.
A typical Myotonology treatment is 45 to 60 minutes in length and the cost ranges from $100 to $175 per session. For more information, go to www.myoinc.com.
