Proactiv Teams Up with Caroline Wozniacki
Guthy-Renker announced today that the world’s No. 1 tennis champion, Caroline Wozniacki, has signed on to share her real life experience with America’s leading acne solution. Why Proactiv? As an athlete, Caroline turned to Proactiv for an effective solution for her acne because she doesn’t have the option to cover up blemishes with heavy makeup when she’s on the court.
“Acne is the last thing I need to worry about when I wake up the day of a big match,” said Wozniacki. “I’m happy to speak out about Proactiv, it really works for me. As a female athlete I’m always sweating, under a lot of stress and traveling all over the world, so I needed something that worked with my lifestyle. Proactiv cleared my skin. When I have great skin, I’m confident. When I’m confident, I can focus on winning.”
Caroline has been a Proactiv customer for several years and travels with multiple products from the line while on tour. She will appear in several new commercials soon to be shown in the United States, Australia, Europe and Japan, prior to the Australian Open. Caroline’s U.S. commercial will debut on the MTV HD screen in New York’s Times Square. The tennis pro joins a star-studded line-up of Proactiv celebrity customers-turned-spokespeople, including leading music artists Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Avril Lavigne, actresses Jenna Fischer and Jennifer Love Hewitt, singer and actress Julianne Hough, and many more.
“Caroline is a world-class athlete who is frequently in the spotlight. She fights acne with determination and focus because clear skin and looking great are important for her confidence,” said Greg Renker, co-Founder and co-Chairman of Guthy-Renker. “We’re thrilled to work with Caroline to encourage others to take action in fighting their acne.”
In 2005, Caroline joined the Sony Ericsson Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour and began competing on the professional level. Wozniacki has won six Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Singles Titles including the Japan Open, New Haven and Stockholm in 2008 and in 2009 she won the Ponte Vedra Beach, Eastbourne and New Haven titles. At the 2009 US Open, Caroline made her debut Grand Slam singles appearance in the quarterfinals, semifinals and final before falling to former Sony Ericsson WTA World number one Kim Clijsters. This month, Wozniacki will become the 20th player in WTA history to reach the top of the WTA Rankings. By reaching the quarterfinals at the 2010 China Open (Beijing), Wozniacki will surpass current World number one Serena Williams. Caroline will become the first Danish player (man or woman) to earn the World number one ranking and the 7th youngest player to do so in WTA history.
