This is a great alternative to the typical petroleum-based lip balm, Conventional products don’t penetrate the skin–instead they leave a sticky film and can actually end up leaving your lips drier. (The same is true of petroleum-based skin moisturizers (mineral oil, petroleum jelly, etc.).
Honey’s antibacterial quality and phytonutrient content also make it a great at-home skin mask. Warm it for a few seconds in the microwave, spread on your face, and leave for about 15 minute. Remove with water–and enjoy a lovely glow.
