    I do not even know where to begin, but that I made the biggest mistake of my life giving American Laser Center my money. Erika Barry, the office manager at the Okemos location is a horrible person to do business with. She lies, is extremely pushy, has a nasty personality, and does not care about her clients/patients/customers. This company’s main priority is to make money and get customers in and out the door. They do not care about their patient’s well being or health. They would rather put a customer at risk for permanent skin problems, so long as they get what they want. Money. They will claim that their employees are trained and certified and that they went through an extended training program lasting months. This is NOT true. If you have done any research, you will find numerous reviews from ex-employees stating that the training lasted only 2 DAYS and that they had no idea what they were doing. The technicians are told to push the sale further and skip areas to make the process faster. This company deserves to be shut down for good, and with the class action lawsuit against them, it’s looking pretty good.

    The company says you will have complete hair loss in the treated areas, and that it will NEVER grow back. They guarantee that you will be satisfied with the results, and you have TWO WHOLE YEARS after your final treatment to get any touch ups that are necessary. My question is- if this TRUELY lasts a lifetime, wouldn’t you think their guarantee would be for life then?! If they could tell the patients that it lasted for life, they would get SO MANY MORE customers. Obviously it doesn’t if they can only guarantee it for two years. Not only that, but rarely do people even see results before their two years are up!!!

    Who in their right mind would pay thousands of dollars, to go through painful laser treatments for THREE years risking their skin and who knows what else for no hair loss, burns, blisters, and skin discoloration.

    I was given misinformation, inconsistent information and I was lied to regarding various different aspects of the treatment. I went for one treatment and refused to go any longer. I started out that I was angry because they had all my money and I had read all the horrible reviews about the treatment not working AT ALL, and then when I started hearing about permanent scarring, blistering, skin discoloration etc. I started becoming concerned for what the treatment might do to me!

    If you also have been ripped off by this company, please do not give up. Bug them EVERY SINGLE DAY until you see a refund. Get what you deserve. Also, there is a class action lawsuit. Please join the lawsuit at this website http://www.americanlasercentersclassaction.com/

    I became a customer at the American Laser Center in downtown Chicago, and I have to say that it was probably one of the costliest mistakes made. Firstly, the lady that signed me up was extremely pushy. Knowing that I did not have any hair on my torso, she made me sign up for a full body package on the account of “it’d be too expensive to just do a few treatments based on some areas”…. I had gone their with the intention of just face perhaps, legs, but neither of these were excessive. Promises were made, and I started.

    My first technican was good, but she left the center soon (Reason unknown). Then, they paired me up with another technican (ABSOLUTELY Horrible). This lady was all talk and no work (let’s call her “F”)… She would use settings that were doing me no good, and with her EXCESSIVE skipping of areas all together, I finally just got tired of it, and had to do something about it. The manager here is ABSOLUTELY the MOST rude human being I have ever known. She says that she will call you back, never does. She will cut you off mid-sentence, and really needs an attitude adjustment. There were three of us (me and two other friends), who all had the same observation about Dolly. She continues this rudeness which we are all unpleased with. Anyhow, F sucked, and then they saw how mad I was, asked me not to call Corporate office, so they put me with another girl. She did her job soo well, and clearly had high integrity. After a couple treatments with her, she told me that she was also leaving the center (2nd one), and then my friend recommended “C” — who also left the center before I could have a visit with her. (3rd good one leaving).

    At that point, they scheduled me with a European girl who was definitely very good about her work. Since she only works during the day, I would have a take a whole day of vacation to get treatments with her, but at this point, I was so fed up and since I paid thousands of dollars, I took the day off, based on THEIR schedule.

    One other technician did one treatment for me (suggested by the manager), and she was ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS / NIGHTMARE. She was working on an area, and stopped in the middle of the treatment and said, time’s up… At the start of the appointment, she told me that she needed to step out for a moment, and didn’t return until 20 minutes… She said sorry that she took so long as she started answering calls (WHY???? if she is supposed to be in a room - why answer calls at that time??) Anyhow, she used settings that were COMPLETELY USELESS! I told the manager again recently, and she tells me that I haven’t seen any improvement because they were using very mild settings for several treatments in the beginning. SEEMS LIKE A TRAP from the CENTER, doesn’t it? Let’s use mild settings — client will see no result, let them be upset, else we sign them up for more round - hence more revenues from existing customers, since they have no future customers coming in the door given the prices/results others hear about.

    Having said this, I have to say that the worst is that the Manager in this water tower office of Chicago has no work ethic, has serious attitude problems, and just does NOT want to ‘work with’ her customers. I wish they would launch an investigation, else I would be the first one to initiate/endorse a lawsuit.
