L’Oreal Paris Celebrates 100 Years

L'Oreal ParisThis month, L’Oreal Paris is honored to celebrate a major milestone of 100 years of legendary beauty. With products sold in over 150 countries around the world, L’Oreal Paris is a beauty leader grounded in science and driven by the passion to succeed. This centennial celebration recognizes the vision of its founder, French chemist Eugene Schueller, who developed the first permanent haircolor using an oxidation process, and the amazing growth one company has had over the past century.

One hundred years of legendary beauty are celebrated on these dates in history:

  • 1954: L’Oreal Paris was first brought to the U.S.
  • 1966: The first mass-market haircolor line comes to women everywhere! We call it Preference.
  • 1973: Premiere of the “Because I’m Worth It” campaign.
  • 1983: Creme Riche Lipcolour, now today’s popular Colour Riche Lipcolour, was introduced to the small lineup of eye, lip and nail colors, exploding the demand for a complete color cosmetics line.
  • 1984: L’Oreal offers the first hair styling mousse available in the U.S.
  • 1985: L’Oreal made a major commitment by creating Studio Line styling products and in the process played a significant role in creating the U.S. styling products category as it exists today.
  • 1989: Plenitude, L’Oreal’s skincare line, made its debut following a major success in Europe. Its launch revolutionized skincare by introducing prestige quality and technology to the mass market.

To showcase the rich history and amazing achievements of one company and one brand, L’Oreal Paris is celebrating this centennial by offering specials on some of the star products. These memorable, iconic products include Colour Riche Lipcolour, Voluminous Mascara, True Match Makeup, Excellence Haircolor, EverPure haircare and Revitalift skincare.

From the vast portfolio of legendary beauty, these products will be available for one week only in June or July at chain drug, food and mass market retailers nationwide at strategic, hot price points:
