Salon Professional Academy
Gary Carroll announced the opening of The Salon Professional Academy ( http://tspapalmbeach.com/) here at 552 SE 15 St. and expects to open more of the franchise locations in South Florida, Orlando and Jacksonville. He said they will revolutionize the hairstyling and salon industry through increased education and in-depth business training.
Within his new 10,000 square foot state-of-the art facility, would-be hair, nail, skin care professionals will train in a unique 10-month program, learning everything from textbook and product knowledge to working with clients in a live salon atmosphere, Carroll said.
“This is a win-win, since by opening the training facility to the public, students under supervision have a chance to work with ‘guests,’ who can have all their personal services at a greatly reduced fee.” Haircuts start at $12, manicures, $9, facial $22 (prices subject to change).
The curriculum includes an important business course. “Once students graduate, they’ll know how to; manage their business, track retention and referrals, run the front desk, build clientele and grow. The Salon Professional Academy is exclusively endorsed by Redken, 5th Avenue New York and offers the highest level of education and training.”
“I learned more this week than in three weeks at another school,” said one student named Hailee, who left one beauty school to come here. She said the difference was both in the curriculum and teaching style.
Students also learn life lessons and are given a growth management journal and motivational tools, learning the Summit Salon Business Programs by Michael Cole. “We want to change the image of the hairstyling professional, raise the bar,” added Carroll. The academy also offers multiple financing packages catered to the individual student.
Carroll takes this system a step further, recruiting salons to participate in a business program. Participating salons will learn valuable business and management skills as well as becoming eligible to accept fully-trained students from the school as employees. Additional advanced classes in new hairstyles and color techniques will be available. TSPAPalmBeach is registered with over 50 salons in South Florida providing graduates the opportunity for immediate job placement.
“This system has never been done before,” added Carroll, who hopes to change the salon industry. Carroll currently owns Salon Oasis on Atlantic Avenue here.
