New Eczema Treatment
It should be good news for anyone suffering from eczema. Manuka Honey is claiming with recent studies this special type of honey is extremely effective in treating eczema. This Manuka Honey is said to contain antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiviral, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties making it an amazing natural resource. It has also been known to have the ability to moisturize, soothe and repair dry, cracked and damaged skin.
“Historically, eczema has been notoriously difficulty to treat,” says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International, a manufacturer of health care products containing Active Manuka Honey as a healing agent. “Now with the new discoveries of the healing power of Manuka Honey, eczema sufferers have a new option.” Like all honeys, Manuka Honey is sticky and not particularly desirable to use as a topical application on the skin, not to mention that it’s somewhat expensive and hard to come by. However, Honeymark blends Manuka Honey into their creams and lotions, creating a variety of different skin care products. Honeymark’s Anti-Itch Cream has achieved great results in treating eczema. Manuka Honey is the main ingredient. This product is also effective in treating insect bites/stings, poison ivy, poison oak/poison sumac, seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis.

[…] “Honeymark takes the sticky mess out of using honey topically on the skin,” says Frank Buonanotte, CEO of Honeymark International. “We import Manuka Honey from New Zealand and blend it into our medicated creams and lotions for a much more desirable and user-friendly application.” Honeymark currently has Manuka Honey products that are effective in treating wounds, burns, eczema, psoriasis, ringworm, etc. Honeymark also plans on increasing their line of Manuka honey-based products later this year to include an acne cream, anti-aging serum, hand sanitizing gel, antiseptic spray, shampoo, conditioner, liquid hand soap and a moisturizer. Buonanotte has also indicated that the company is working on the development of facial masks and bandages that have Manuka Honey infused into a coconut fiber material that can be applied directly to the skin, allowing for more efficient diffusion into the depth of skin tissue. We thought this was very interesting. Honey does have a lot of healing and antibacterial. It’s what the Romans used to use to cover wounds so they wouldn’t get infected. I would love to know more about these products.
